Genellikle paketlerin üzerinde ya da çevremizde gördüğümüz herhangi bir ürünün üzerinde bazı terimlerle karşılaşmış olabilirsiniz. Plastik terimleri birden fazla olmakla beraber aşağıdaki gibidir:
ABS: Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (thermoplastic)
BMC: Bulk Moulding Compound (moist polyester)
CIM: Ceramic injection moulding
EPP: Expanded polypropylene (foamed)
